Curuai's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Nilson Nascimento notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Horizon FC's Adhemar Velasco. Adhemar Velasco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Henrique Figueiredo might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardinho Ramalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henrique Figueiredo ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Horizon FC's Beto Sabóia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ricardinho Ramalho. That made the score 2-1 after 28 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Horizon FC's Clemente Souza got a free kick in the 31st minute. Zézinho Meira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adhemar Velasco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Clemente Souza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Horizon FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Curuai the free kick. 46 minutes into the match, Horizon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cacá Paraíba came free, but Adhemar Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

54 minutes into the match, Zézinho Meira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adhemar Velasco. Horizon FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zézinho Meira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Samuel Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Horizon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nilson Nascimento came free, but Adhemar Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adhemar Velasco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kauan Vasconcelos in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilson Nascimento in the 73rd minute of play forced Horizon FC's goalkeeper Adhemar Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th match minute, Horizon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Varela to maneuver through the defense. After 83 played minutes Horizon FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Passos. Beto Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardinho Ramalho having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
