Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luís Guilherme Mattos kicked off to start the match. Sydney Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabino Nogueira in the 4th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Osvaldinho Vianna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sydney Gomes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Fortaleza Esporte Clube's zone, Osvaldinho Vianna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sydney Gomes came out of the goal and Osvaldinho Vianna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sabino Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Guilherme Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Leme having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sabino Nogueira in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sydney Gomes saved Fortaleza Esporte Clube from getting behind. Sabino Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Gomes having to interfere. Osvaldinho Vianna might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sydney Gomes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osvaldinho Vianna ran back to his position shaking his head. Fernando Terra's late challenge caught a Iubatinga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Terra helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Iubatinga booed when Fortaleza Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Genílson Meira, 37 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Osvaldinho Vianna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sydney Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabino Nogueira in the 44th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fortaleza Esporte Clube's zone, Sabino Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sydney Gomes came out of the goal and Sabino Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sabino Nogueira to make the kick off. After 59 minutes, Mário Soares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fortaleza Esporte Clube and the Iubatinga players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Fortaleza Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Soares to maneuver through the defense. Sydney Gomes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Genílson Meira. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Sydney Gomes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lucas Santana hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. If Tadeu Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Iubatinga's Osmar Vides got a free kick in the 74th minute. André Luís Brito struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Gláuber Leme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fortaleza Esporte Clube. Sabino Nogueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 84 minutes into the game, Válter Hermes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iubatinga the free kick. The supporters of Iubatinga booed when Fortaleza Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válter Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sabino Nogueira in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sydney Gomes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Osvaldinho Vianna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Iubatinga booed when Fortaleza Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cauan Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Iubatinga left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fortaleza Esporte Clube.
