Amauri Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fábio Tepedino in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Breckenfeld in the 18th minute of play forced C. F. Sem Nome's goalkeeper Amauri Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Astro MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Carlinhos Salgado came free, but Nilson de Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 minutes of play, Astro MZ's Rui Antunes made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amauri Maranhense was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Renatinho da Rocha during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of C. F. Sem Nome booed when Astro MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renatinho da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute César das Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amauri Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lúcio Ferraz charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lúcio Ferraz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lúcio Ferraz hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, Carlinhos Salgado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C. F. Sem Nome fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amauri Maranhense should have stopped the shot. After 48 played minutes Astro MZ got a freekick which was hit by César das Neves. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell César das Neves to make the kick off. Nilson de Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Astro MZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Astro MZ had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
