Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Armando Pires kicked off to start the match. The Maxwell fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when Maxwell's Flávio de Amorim looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 43rdth minute of the game Chicão Cavalcante who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tromba's Horácio Valle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 45 played minutes Tromba got a freekick which was hit by Armando Pires. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Flávio de Amorim to strike the kick off in the second half. With his leg Horácio Valle managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Maxwell's Flávio de Amorim fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horácio Valle made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Flávio de Amorim sent off a good shot on target. Horácio Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chicão Cavalcante in the 82nd minute of play. He was immediately shown a red card. The goalkeeper, Horácio Valle, was totally fooled by Maxwell's Flávio de Amorim, who 96 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Maxwell's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
