Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Osvaldinho Aparecido got the match started through his kick off. Ernani Coutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juvenal Jacinto in the 4th minute of the match. Ernani Coutinho made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when João Augusto Mazza sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Atlético Cruz's Betão Vander got a free kick in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho Vale in the 9th minute of play forced Atlético Cruz's goalkeeper Ernani Coutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alberto das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Atlético Cruz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto das Neves couldn't finish the play. Lino Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Washington Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 13 played minutes Atlético Cruz got a freekick which was hit by Lino Teles. Ernani Coutinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Augusto Mazza in the 15th minute. João Augusto Mazza's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ernani Coutinho firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alberto das Neves struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Washington Cerezo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Cruz. Lenílson Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Washington Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Washington Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto das Neves in the 26th minute of play. Samuel Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Samuel Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After having played for 31 minutes, Alberto das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Cruz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto das Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Juvenal Jacinto notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Atlético Cruz's Ernani Coutinho. Ernani Coutinho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lenílson Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Washington Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Atlético Cruz booed when Real Flamengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldinho Aparecido didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Jarbas Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto das Neves made a kick off. When Juvenal Jacinto fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Flamengo's protests and gave Juvenal Jacinto a yellow card for diving instead. After 59 played minutes Real Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Juvenal Jacinto. With an all-out effort, Atlético Cruz's Washington Cerezo threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alberto das Neves, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 68 minutes, Alberto das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Cruz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto das Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71st minute of the match Lenílson Catarinense sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Washington Cerezo skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Alberto das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Cruz's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto das Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Washington Cerezo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lenílson Catarinense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberto das Neves did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Washington Cerezo 79 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Raúl Teixeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernani Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júnior de Queiroz in the 86th minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Alberto das Neves recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Washington Cerezo. Alberto das Neves showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. João Augusto Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Atlético Cruz's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
