Silas de Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Antônio Prata made a huge save. In the 38th minute Frederico Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalmo Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldemar Silva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Rafinha Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independente TTI SPFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafinha Perez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Antônio Prata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederico Silveira in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 52nd match minute, Independente TTI SPFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betão Penha to maneuver through the defense. After 53 played minutes, Tucunduba EC's Umberto da Cunha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Antônio Prata came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tucunduba EC reached it. In the 55th minute, Dalmo Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 58 minutes, Silas de Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tucunduba EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silas de Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Dalmo Brito came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Independente TTI SPFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dalmo Brito couldn't finish the play.
