Tadeu Ramalho charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tadeu Ramalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 2nd match minute, Mucambo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadeu Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Narciso Maranhense got free with Eriberto Cosme in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Robinho de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espinhal's supporters rose to their feet, but Robinho de Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Cosme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute, Tadeu Ramalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adolfo Negri hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Espinhal's Lúcio Britto got a free kick in the 19th minute. Amos Piscopo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Tande in the 22nd minute of play. Amos Piscopo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaká Bittencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Mucambo's goalkeeper Eriberto Cosme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adolfo Negri. With a little luck, Mucambo's Eriberto Cosme got control of the ball when Narciso Maranhense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Robinho de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Eriberto Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Narciso Maranhense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Espinhal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Amos Piscopo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Sá in the 46th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lúcio Britto to make the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Espinhal's Evandro Jacinto made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eriberto Cosme was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eriberto Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evandro Jacinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robinho de Andrade struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Eriberto Cosme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espinhal. Eriberto Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Negri in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 64th minute Dorival Tande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amos Piscopo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 minutes, Lúcio Britto made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Mucambo's Eriberto Cosme tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Eriberto Cosme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adolfo Negri went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Agostinho Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mucambo's supporters rose to their feet, but Agostinho Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amos Piscopo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kaká Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgard Alcântara during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had been going on for 84 minutes, Mucambo's Enio Viana got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Amos Piscopo. Adolfo Negri hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Amos Piscopo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaká Bittencourt in the 92nd minute. Eriberto Cosme came out of the goal in the 98th minute to try and stop a shot by Espinhal's Evandro Jacinto. But to his dismay, Evandro Jacinto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. There was no doubt that Espinhal were the better team. Espinhal's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
