Amarelo SS's João Paulo Gaúcho was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 27th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After having played for 55 minutes, João Paulo Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amarelo SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Paulo Gaúcho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Filipe de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Braga in the 59th minute of play. Percival Zilles hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Ricardo Bittencourt in the 62nd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Ismael Paraíba's left hand side. João Paulo Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Paraíba having to interfere. If Claudinei Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, João Paulo Gaúcho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Amarelo SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Wágner Barreto charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, João Paulo Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amarelo SS's supporters rose to their feet, but João Paulo Gaúcho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ismael Paraíba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amarelo SS's Claudinei Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudinei Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
