Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Róbson do Valle in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clemente Berger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Téo Dantas got free with Teodoro Neto in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Téo Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clemente Berger came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Macahe SS's Róbson do Valle. But to his dismay, Róbson do Valle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Almir Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in CHELSEA's zone, Róbson do Valle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemente Berger came out of the goal and Róbson do Valle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anselmo Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Murilo Massa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 28th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Alberto Arruda lost his temper 32 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Téo Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot. CHELSEA's supporters rose to their feet, but Téo Dantas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodoro Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th minute, Murilo Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Téo Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot. CHELSEA's supporters rose to their feet, but Téo Dantas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodoro Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clemente Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bebeto Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Almir Ribeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Macahe SS's Conrado Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frederico Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clemente Berger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conrado Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Frederico Saraiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Clemente Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, CHELSEA's Clemente Berger got control of the ball when Conrado Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a little luck, CHELSEA's Clemente Berger got control of the ball when Murilo Massa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Conrado Azevedo came free in the 89th minute and tried to tip the ball over Clemente Berger, but to the joy of CHELSEA's supporters the ball went over. If Murilo Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Almir Ribeiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teodoro Neto was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The CHELSEA support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
