Itahu's Bernardinho Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmyr Marinho in the 34th minute of play. Corneliu Ispas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardinho Camargo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandrinho Nóbrega in the 38th minute. In the 45th match minute, River Stones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Fernando Severo to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 63rd match minute, Itahu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maicon Goiano to maneuver through the defense. Paulo Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glauco Zonta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Ispas in the 77th minute of play forced Itahu's goalkeeper Bernardinho Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Itahu getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Maicon Goiano hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Marques during the 88th minute.
