Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Insua SC's Ramón Travassos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Reynaldo Coutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramón Travassos did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Marcel Quintal 8 minutes into the match. Helvetia SC's Reynaldo Coutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Helvetia SC's Germano de Alcântara got a free kick in the 17th minute. Insua SC's Juan Vidal shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 18th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Marcel Quintal but with some difficulty. After 19 played minutes Helvetia SC got a freekick which was hit by Raúl Nóbrega. Beto da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Quintal having to interfere. Beto da Costa struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Marcel Quintal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Insua SC. In the 27th minute, Insua SC's Ramón Travassos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcel Quintal. Marcel Quintal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Cacá Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcel Quintal made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Beto da Costa sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Insua SC's Marcel Quintal threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ramón Travassos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Ramón Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Insua SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramón Travassos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcel Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Helvetia SC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Maicon Mandrak hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Ramón Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Insua SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramón Travassos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcel Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cacá Cruz to make the kick off. Beto da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramiro Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After 63 played minutes, Insua SC's Juan Vidal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcel Quintal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Insua SC reached it. 64 minutes into the game, Insua SC's Ramón Travassos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcel Quintal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Marcel Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto da Costa in the 68th minute of play. In the 77th match minute, Helvetia SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. Ramón Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Quintal having to interfere. Marcel Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beto da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcel Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto da Costa in the 90th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Helvetia SC's zone, Ramón Travassos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Quintal came out of the goal and Ramón Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that Insua SC were the better team. Insua SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
