With a little luck, Catoles's Charles Favoretto got control of the ball when Luiz Eduardo Peres tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Florencio booed when Catoles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giuseppe da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Luiz Eduardo Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Florencio getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Francisco Veloso hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Gustavo Catarinense notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Florencio's Váldson Berger. Váldson Berger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Charles Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Hoffmann in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Catoles's goalkeeper Charles Favoretto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Eduardo Peres got free with Charles Favoretto in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Charles Favoretto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Eduardo Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Charles Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilson Hoffmann in the 47th minute of play forced Catoles's goalkeeper Charles Favoretto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilson Hoffmann was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Catoles's zone, Luiz Eduardo Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charles Favoretto came out of the goal and Luiz Eduardo Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Charles Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Eduardo Peres in the 54th minute of the match. Sérgio Pena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute Gilson Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Favoretto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Florencio fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when Florencio's Luiz Eduardo Peres looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 72nd match minute, Catoles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sérgio Pena to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rdth minute of the game Gilson Hoffmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catoles's Charles Favoretto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ulysses Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Charles Favoretto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 75th minute, Giuseppe da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Luiz Eduardo Peres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Charles Favoretto was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Eduardo Peres in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Charles Favoretto saved Catoles from getting behind. A collision led to Catoles getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Tony Amorim hit a great ball. Charles Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Hoffmann in the 85th minute of the match. Gilson Hoffmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Eduardo Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Charles Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilson Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Favoretto having to interfere.
