With a little luck, Brasil Team FC's Cléber Valladares got control of the ball when Joel Pitta tried to sneak it across the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Arlindo Sampaio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brasil Team FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pertile the free kick. After 27 played minutes Brasil Team FC got a freekick which was hit by Arlindo Sampaio. 37 minutes into the match, Brasil Team FC's goal looked a bit too open when Romário Branco came free, but Cléber Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lino Mesquita to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Joel Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pertile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Pitta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cléber Valladares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Severo in the 54th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinei Trevisan got free with Severino Melo in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Paulo Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 80th minute of the match Giuseppe Ceresso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cléber Valladares skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Brasil Team FC's Arlindo Sampaio got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Paulo Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Cléber Valladares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Pitta, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Paulo Severo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cléber Valladares having to make a save. Claudinei Trevisan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severino Melo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Romário Branco's late challenge caught a Brasil Team FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romário Branco helped the player get up and apologised. After 97 played minutes Pertile got a freekick which was hit by Romário Branco.
