Chapeu's César de Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 12 played minutes Jacareacanga AD got a freekick which was hit by Adrianinho Batista. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, César de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chapeu's supporters rose to their feet, but César de Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manfredo Salgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 15 minutes into the match, Jacareacanga AD's goal looked a bit too open when César de Sena came free, but Manfredo Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chapeu's Chicão Fontes suffered a torn muscle in his knee after 17 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Orlando Santana fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jacareacanga AD's protests and gave Orlando Santana a yellow card for diving instead. Orlando Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Guga Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute, César de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guga Ferreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Richard Meira made a huge save. Bernardo Mendes scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manfredo Salgado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When César de Sena came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Chapeu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César de Sena couldn't finish the play. If Bernardo Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chapeu's Marcos Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernardo Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Richard Meira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arlindo Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. César de Sena charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed César de Sena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If César de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arlindo Romero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Arlindo Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Meira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacareacanga AD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by César Sarmento in the 54th minute. A nice corner shot did that César Sarmento got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Richard Meira quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Manfredo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Proença in the 58th minute of play. Bernardo Mendes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manfredo Salgado having to make a save. Bernardo Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfredo Salgado having to interfere. Manfredo Salgado made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Marcos Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. Jacareacanga AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Marcos Medeiros scored to the left of an out of position Manfredo Salgado, making the score, 1-3. Jacareacanga AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arlindo Romero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcos Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Manfredo Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chapeu. After a defensive mix-up in Jacareacanga AD's zone, Bernardo Mendes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manfredo Salgado came out of the goal and Bernardo Mendes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Bernardo Mendes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. César de Sena struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Manfredo Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chapeu. The Jacareacanga AD fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Chapeu were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
