FLAMENGO CR RJ's Lawrence Gaston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerônimo da Cunha in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Lenílson Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the game, one of Ouricana:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Edmundo Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guido Arenas in the 16th minute of the match. Lawrence Gaston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Garcia in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Ouricana's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Arenas came free, but Edmundo Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Cesinha Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the game, Lenílson Alves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FLAMENGO CR RJ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ouricana the free kick. Lenílson Alves hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Eriberto Couto's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Lawrence Gaston - 1-2 was put on the score board in the 30th minute. After having played for 34 minutes, Guido Arenas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FLAMENGO CR RJ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guido Arenas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Nunez Illan fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FLAMENGO CR RJ's protests and gave Nunez Illan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FLAMENGO CR RJ's Nunez Illan got a free kick in the 39th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Lawrence Gaston successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 42 played minutes FLAMENGO CR RJ got a freekick which was hit by Laerte de Barros. A long shot from Eriberto Couto in the 43rd minute of play was well struck, but Lawrence Gaston made a really good save at the right post. Fynn Gewalt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundo Tasso having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, Guido Arenas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FLAMENGO CR RJ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Fynn Gewalt received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Edmundo Tasso came out and tried to block the shot, but Fynn Gewalt slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 62nd minute. After 68 minutes of play, Ouricana's João Pedro Queirós made it 2-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lawrence Gaston was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fynn Gewalt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Edmundo Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Fynn Gewalt put it in 2-7 from a short distance just to the right of Edmundo Tasso. The crowd rose to their feet as FLAMENGO CR RJ's Guido Arenas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edmundo Tasso. That made the score 2-8 after 78 minutes of play. In the 85th minute, Guido Arenas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Ouricana getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Jerônimo da Cunha hit a great ball. Fynn Gewalt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Edmundo Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lawrence Gaston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the game, one of FLAMENGO CR RJ:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 98th minute there was a penalty for Ouricana. Eriberto Couto stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lawrence Gaston. 3-8. The Ouricana fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FLAMENGO CR RJ were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
