Oséas Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Belchior Linares got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Maurinho Barbosa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geovani Hames's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Henrique Paraibano hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, Santos F.C's Belchior Linares dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Belchior Linares got free with Maurinho Barbosa in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Independente Sport Club booed when Santos F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Belchior Linares notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Independente Sport Club's Maurinho Barbosa. Maurinho Barbosa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. One of Independente Sport Club:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Santos F.C:s goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Mikolaj Ciszewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséas Campidelis in the 54th minute of play. After 55 minutes, Délio Varela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santos F.C and the Independente Sport Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Délio Varela hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. When Geovani Hames, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 57 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Maurinho Barbosa was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. A collision led to Independente Sport Club getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Adolfo de Barros hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Independente Sport Club's Edmílson Quirino got a free kick in the 64th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Independente Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Belchior Linares came free, but Maurinho Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oséas Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Mikolaj Ciszewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Independente Sport Club's Oséas Campidelis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mikolaj Ciszewski. That made the score 3-1 after 71 minutes of play. A collision led to Santos F.C getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Mário Paraíba hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas Campidelis in the 81st minute of play forced Santos F.C's goalkeeper Mikolaj Ciszewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Geovani Hames came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Santos F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovani Hames couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas Campidelis in the 86th minute of play forced Santos F.C's goalkeeper Mikolaj Ciszewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes Santos F.C got a freekick which was hit by Téo Guedes. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oséas Campidelis in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mikolaj Ciszewski saved Santos F.C from getting behind. If Geovani Hames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 98th match minute, Independente Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Pirani to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Santos F.C were the better team. Santos F.C's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
