Dênis da Costa started the match with the kick off. Naldo Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Diogo Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roeland Euving scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diogo Zonta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roeland Euving in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diogo Zonta saved Tijuca Juniors from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Tijuca Juniors's zone, Wanderson Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diogo Zonta came out of the goal and Wanderson Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sabino de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamin Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Roeland Euving sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dênis da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Sabino de Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roeland Euving got free with Diogo Zonta in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diogo Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roeland Euving in the 36th minute of the match. With his leg Diogo Zonta managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Nação Flamengo's Roeland Euving fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Tijuca Juniors's Dênis da Costa got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Roeland Euving sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Nação Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Dênis da Costa came free, but Sabino de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roeland Euving to make the kick off. Benjamin Gaspar scored 1-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sabino de Alcântara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Naldo Montenegro fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nação Flamengo's protests and gave Naldo Montenegro a yellow card for diving instead. After 70 played minutes Nação Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Naldo Montenegro. Benjamin Gaspar scored 1-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sabino de Alcântara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sabino de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dênis da Costa in the 77th minute of the match. If Benjamin Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Nação Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Dênis da Costa came free, but Sabino de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diogo Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wanderson Macedo in the 87th minute of the match. Zé Paulo Sampaio lost his temper 90 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nação Flamengo! Benjamim dos Santos walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Naldo Montenegro in the 95th minute of play forced Tijuca Juniors's goalkeeper Diogo Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute of the match, Benjamin Gaspar got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sabino de Alcântara was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Tijuca Juniors were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Nação Flamengo's much stronger midfield.
