Ivan Trifan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo de Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the game, Matheus Tavares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Faustão Pitta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Faustão Pitta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diamantino Carneiro went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Buraco Negro's Ivan Trifan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Figueiredo in the 25th minute of play. When Diamantino Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Buraco Negro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diamantino Carneiro couldn't finish the play. Buraco Negro's Diamantino Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodrigo de Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Carneiro in the 40th minute of play forced Itamoabo's goalkeeper Faustão Pitta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivan Trifan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo de Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the game, Diamantino Carneiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buraco Negro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itamoabo the free kick. After 46 played minutes Buraco Negro got a freekick which was hit by Diamantino Carneiro. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matheus Tavares in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faustão Pitta saved Itamoabo from getting behind. Jarbas Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustão Pitta having to interfere. If Jarbas Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Buraco Negro's attentive Jarbas Correia managed to snatch the ball when Humberto da Rocha made a throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game. Sílvio Luís Peres's late challenge caught a Buraco Negro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sílvio Luís Peres helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th minute, Sílvio Luís Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Buraco Negro's Jarbas Correia got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 69 minutes, João Guerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itamoabo and the Buraco Negro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Itamoabo's João Guerra got a free kick in the 69th minute. After 71 played minutes Itamoabo got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís Peres. 73 minutes into the match, Alfredinho Ceresso notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Itamoabo's Faustão Pitta. Faustão Pitta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Buraco Negro's Ivan Trifan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Buraco Negro from getting a goal against them.
