Guadiana's Agnaldo Cardozo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Neto in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Zézinho Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chico Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jano Mendes in the 19th minute of play. Vivaldo Secco hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Agnaldo Cardozo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 33 minutes into the game, Gerson Neto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Agnaldo Cardozo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Chico Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vito Vander in the 38th minute of play. After 39 played minutes Guadiana got a freekick which was hit by Elias Paes. In the 43rd minute, Vivaldo de Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute, Zézinho Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agnaldo Cardozo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gerson Neto's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Guadiana's goal looked a bit too open when Vivaldo de Amaral came free, but Agnaldo Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gerson Neto made a kick off. Agnaldo Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerson Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agnaldo Cardozo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Noel Abreu's late challenge caught a Guadiana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 66th minute of the match, Jano Mendes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Chico Gaspar was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jano Mendes got free with Chico Gaspar in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chico Gaspar was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ronaldão Galvão showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 75 minute of play. Chico Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldão Galvão in the 81st minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Guadiana's Zézinho Oliveira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-5. After 97 minutes, Silvério de Lara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ceara de sp and the Guadiana players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Guadiana players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
