The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Acácio Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caco Goiano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iuri Rocha in the 6th minute. Caco Goiano was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dito Brodel. In the 14th match minute, Tulu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cacá Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Guga Macedo came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Tulu FC's Belmiro Vides. But to his dismay, Belmiro Vides quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 24 minutes of play, Tulu FC's Ricardinho Valle made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guga Macedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 27th minute, one of Tulu FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tulu FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardinho Valle in the 32nd minute of play forced Jatoba's goalkeeper Guga Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardinho Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belmiro Vides in the 35th minute of play forced Jatoba's goalkeeper Guga Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Acácio Zonta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tulu FC's Caco Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iuri Rocha in the 53rd minute of play. Guga Macedo was a little too slow when Ricardinho Valle got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-3. In the 68th minute Ricardinho Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guga Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ricardinho Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Jatoba's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Belmiro Vides fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ricardinho Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga Macedo having to interfere. With his leg Guga Macedo managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when Tulu FC's Belmiro Vides fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Belmiro Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guga Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardinho Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute, one of Tulu FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tulu FC. In the 90th minute there was a penalty for Jatoba. Túlio Garcia stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Caco Goiano. 2-3. 93 minutes into the game, Renatinho Tavares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jatoba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tulu FC the free kick. 96 minutes into the game, Ricardinho Valle recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Guga Macedo. Ricardinho Valle showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. Tulu FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
