Caco Goiano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Costin Amandiței's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 40th minute, Esporte Clube Macedo's Virgílio Carvalho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. Caco Goiano made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Armando Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. Caco Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costin Amandiței in the 46th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardinho Valle to make the kick off. Virgílio Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caco Goiano having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Costin Amandiței got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ricardinho Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
