Tiago Gabriel Paranaense might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roberto Nóbrega. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiago Gabriel Paranaense ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardinho Chaves in the 25th minute of play forced Gerno's goalkeeper Roy Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
