Cauã Brodel charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cauã Brodel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Saboeiro booed when Gremio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cauã Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Dito Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Saboeiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dito Amorim couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauã Souza in the 11th minute of play forced Saboeiro's goalkeeper Jorginho Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aníbal Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Prado having to interfere. In the 17th minute Kauã Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorginho Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Aníbal Azevedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Saboeiro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 24th play minute Nilmar Pontes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jorginho Fernandes. 1-1. Jorginho Fernandes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ruy Baptista. The audience was convinced that Dito Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romeu Prado was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dito Amorim in the 35th minute of play forced Gremio's goalkeeper Romeu Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saboeiro's Jorginho Fernandes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Saboeiro from getting a goal against them. Dito Amorim scored 1-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Romeu Prado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kauã Souza to strike the kick off in the second half. Jorginho Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kauã Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Arruda during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Saboeiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Arruda to maneuver through the defense. Nilmar Pontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 66 in the game by Dito Amorim from a close distance when the talented Romeu Prado managed to make a qualified save. Gremio's players were relieved. Romeu Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aníbal Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Jorginho Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kauã Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 73 minutes into the match, Saboeiro's goal looked a bit too open when Nilmar Pontes came free, but Jorginho Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kauã Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauã Souza in the 80th minute of play forced Saboeiro's goalkeeper Jorginho Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorginho Fernandes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nilmar Pontes's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Saboeiro's Aníbal Azevedo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Romeu Prado. That made the score 1-3 after 85 minutes of play. Dito Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Gremio supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Saboeiro's performance. The match ended with a win for Saboeiro.
