With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vítor Cruz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 18th minute, Paulo Marquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Taboinha's Rui Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Rui Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Cacique FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Gonçalves came free, but Vítor Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Taboinha's Rui Gonçalves got a free kick in the 25th minute. Anísio Mazza's late challenge caught a Cacique FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anísio Mazza helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th match minute, Taboinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Mazza to maneuver through the defense. Vítor Cruz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Marquez in the 30th minute. Taboinha's Paulo Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute Rui Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Vítor Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rui Gonçalves took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vítor Cruz. Vítor Cruz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kaká de Brito was the one to do the kick off. David Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Monteiro having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cacique FC's zone, Paulo Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vítor Cruz came out of the goal and Paulo Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 57 minutes of play, Taboinha's Rui Gonçalves made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vítor Cruz was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Rui Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th of the match, Kaká de Brito tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Tomás Monteiro got in the way and made a wonderful save. Cacique FC's Vítor Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Marquez in the 69th minute of play. Vítor Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Gonçalves in the 74th minute of play. Paulo Marquez scored 3-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vítor Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute Rui Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 88 minutes, Rui Gonçalves made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cacique FC's Vítor Cruz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
