Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rui Gonçalves started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Taboinha's goalkeeper Tomás Monteiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlos Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th minute, Rui Gonçalves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Agnaldo Furtado was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Luisinho Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brete's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisinho Massa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Brete booed when Taboinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nildo Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisinho Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Monteiro having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Taboinha's goal looked a bit too open when Luisinho Massa came free, but Tomás Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rui Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Agnaldo Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Taboinha got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Mazza. Tomás Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Massa in the 36th minute of play. Anísio Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo Furtado having to interfere. Brete's Agnaldo Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Gonçalves in the 43rd minute of play. If Rui Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anísio Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Luisinho Massa made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Taboinha's Paulo Marquez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Agnaldo Furtado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Taboinha's Osvaldinho Mello pulled a muscle in his leg after 51 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Sidney Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 55th minute, Paulo Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Terra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A very good chance. In the 95th minute Luisinho Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Taboinha had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
