Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Brilhante FC's Augusto de Alcântara started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson de Moraes in the 4th minute of play forced Brilhante FC's goalkeeper Adriano Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Biguassu AD were furious when Hernani Breckenfeld was red carded, 7 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Biguassu AD! The referee gave Brilhante FC a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jardel Diniz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Biguassu AD's Joel da Silveira. 0-1. Marco de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Toledo having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Clóvis Dias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joel da Silveira. Biguassu AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clóvis Dias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Edson Garcia's late challenge caught a Biguassu AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edson Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. Beto Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Joel da Silveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clóvis Dias's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. When José Carlos Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Brilhante FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Carlos Nascimento couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Brilhante FC's zone, Marco de Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adriano Toledo came out of the goal and Marco de Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 37 played minutes Brilhante FC got a freekick which was hit by Naldo de Castro. A hard shot 39 in the game by José Maria Passos from a close distance when the talented Adriano Toledo managed to make a qualified save. Brilhante FC's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco de Medeiros got free with Adriano Toledo in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, José Maria Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Biguassu AD's supporters rose to their feet, but José Maria Passos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adriano Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If José Maria Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco de Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Maria Passos made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Marco de Medeiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Biguassu AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Brilhante FC's Adriano Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Maria Passos in the 59th minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Romeu Pereira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Biguassu AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brilhante FC the free kick. Naldo de Castro hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. José Maria Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 70th minute, Edson Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Carlos Nascimento's late challenge caught a Biguassu AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adriano Toledo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Biguassu AD were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Brilhante FC to leave the ground with a draw.
