Goianiense's Adriano Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Tande in the 9th minute of play. With a little luck, Panati SS's Belmiro Berger got control of the ball when José Vítor Araújo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 14 minutes, Leopoldo Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S. E. Goianiense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Barbosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Eusébio Tande came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Panati SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusébio Tande couldn't finish the play. Adriano Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodriguinho Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. With a little luck, Panati SS's Belmiro Berger got control of the ball when José Vítor Araújo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, S. E. Goianiense's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Tande came free, but Adriano Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adriano Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodriguinho Brasil in the 31st minute of the match. Eusébio Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Freire having to interfere. Eusébio Tande kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Caetano Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. S. E. Goianiense's Leopoldo Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves José Vítor Araújo could shoot a difficult shot in the 47th minute, which Belmiro Berger however easily saved by the left post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

José Vítor Araújo might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Belmiro Berger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Vítor Araújo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 52nd minute Eugênio de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Belmiro Berger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belmiro Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Vítor Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Belmiro Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Barbosa in the 56th minute of play. Panati SS's Belmiro Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Vítor Araújo in the 68th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, S. E. Goianiense's José Vítor Araújo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Belmiro Berger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Belchior Breckenfeld scored 3-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Belmiro Berger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Kiko Pirani fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panati SS's protests and gave Kiko Pirani a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, José Vítor Araújo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S. E. Goianiense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. José Vítor Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Belmiro Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Kiko Pirani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Vítor Araújo struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Belmiro Berger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S. E. Goianiense. If Leopoldo Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Vítor Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belmiro Berger having to interfere. There was no doubt that S. E. Goianiense were the better team. S. E. Goianiense's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
