Spectators: 7271 (Terracing: 5455, Seating: 1672, VIP seats: 144) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Douglas Cerezo kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, Remo's Marcelo Pazols seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Marcelo Pazols the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Remo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Marcelo Pazols had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Remo! In the 5th minute there was a penalty for F.C.Siderurgico. Felippe Vinhas stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Júlio Botelho. 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Remo's zone, Douglas Cerezo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Botelho came out of the goal and Douglas Cerezo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute, Mariusz Szotek fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tiaguinho Saldanha, passed just outside the right post. Júlio Botelho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Douglas Cerezo went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 21st minute, Roberto Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erivaldo Brodel in the 28th minute of play forced Remo's goalkeeper Júlio Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariusz Szotek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Tiaguinho Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Júlio Botelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erivaldo Brodel, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Nicolas Coutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mariusz Szotek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elói Linhares hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Roberto Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Mariusz Szotek made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Remo's goalkeeper Júlio Botelho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as F.C.Siderurgico's Douglas Cerezo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Júlio Botelho. That made the score 0-4 after 59 minutes of play. In the 65th minute, Erivaldo Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júlio Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglas Cerezo in the 77th minute of play. Douglas Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Júlio Botelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erivaldo Brodel got free with Júlio Botelho in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 82 minutes into the match, Remo's goalkeeper Júlio Botelho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erivaldo Brodel. Júlio Botelho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erivaldo Brodel in the 82nd minute. After some careless play in the F.C.Siderurgico defense, Mariusz Szotek kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tiaguinho Saldanha. The F.C.Siderurgico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tiaguinho Saldanha should have stopped the shot. In the 92nd minute Dedê Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiaguinho Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in F.C.Siderurgico's zone, Mariusz Szotek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiaguinho Saldanha came out of the goal and Mariusz Szotek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roberto Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Remo lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
