After 12 minutes, Paulo José Prestes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sapucaieiro and the Pizunha SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 12th minute of the game. One of Sapucaieiro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pizunha SC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 14 minutes, Pizunha SC's Antônio Meira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Durvalino Nóbrega. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wiliam Freitas in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cícero Tavares saved Pizunha SC from getting behind. Giuseppe Vieira came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Durvalino Nóbrega could save by the left post. Cícero Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wiliam Freitas in the 26th minute of the match. Luisinho Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Nóbrega having to interfere. Severino Eger hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Luisinho Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Durvalino Nóbrega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pizunha SC's goalkeeper Cícero Tavares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, Sapucaieiro's Wiliam Freitas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cícero Tavares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Antônio Meira shot from long distance in the 46th minute, but Durvalino Nóbrega was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 51 played minutes Pizunha SC got a freekick which was hit by Magno Jacinto. Wiliam Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Tavares having to interfere. Severino Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sapucaieiro's zone, Giuseppe Vieira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Durvalino Nóbrega came out of the goal and Giuseppe Vieira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute Wiliam Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wiliam Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Tavares having to interfere. Cícero Tavares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Virgílio Veloso went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Cícero Tavares was a little too slow when Wiliam Freitas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 1-2. Cícero Tavares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wiliam Freitas's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. After 89 played minutes Pizunha SC got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Vieira. In the 92nd minute, Wiliam Freitas fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cícero Tavares, passed just outside the right post. In the 94th minute, Pizunha SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Virgílio Veloso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.
