Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Sapucaieiro's Wiliam Freitas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Virgílio Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Sidnei Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sapucaieiro defense, Conrado Peres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Durvalino Nóbrega. The Sapucaieiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Durvalino Nóbrega should have stopped the shot. In the 10th minute Ronaldão Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durvalino Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Virgílio Varela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sapucaieiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pajehu EC the free kick. Virgílio Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Virgílio Veloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Pajehu EC's goalkeeper Sidnei Teles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgílio Veloso. Durvalino Nóbrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Romero in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldão Gaúcho in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Durvalino Nóbrega saved Sapucaieiro from getting behind. 43 minutes into the match, Pajehu EC's goalkeeper Sidnei Teles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgílio Veloso. Wiliam Freitas was extremely unlucky when he, in the 45th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 48 played minutes Pajehu EC got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldão Gaúcho. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Ronaldão Gaúcho made the kick off in the second half. Virgílio Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Sidnei Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Virgílio Veloso in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sidnei Teles saved Pajehu EC from getting behind. Durvalino Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Breckenfeld, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. The audience was convinced that Virgílio Veloso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sidnei Teles was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Durvalino Nóbrega made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Jairo Breckenfeld sent off a good shot on target. After 75 minutes of play, Sapucaieiro's Virgílio Veloso made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sidnei Teles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Conrado Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Nóbrega having to interfere. Ronaldão Gaúcho scored 1-2 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Durvalino Nóbrega, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Pajehu EC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sapucaieiro throughout the match.
