Carlos Alberto Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko da Cunha in the 6th minute of the match. Carlos Alberto Lucas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luisinho Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Laerte Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 13 minutes, Jairo Diniz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cordeiros FC and the Yuriduarte players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Cordeiros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Diniz to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Laerte Martins managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Yuriduarte's Luisinho Baptista fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jairo Diniz got his second yellow card in the match during the 17th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Luisinho Baptista did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Laerte Martins 24 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Kiko da Cunha notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Yuriduarte's Carlos Alberto Lucas. Carlos Alberto Lucas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Yuriduarte's Délio Saraiva quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luiz Paulo Tavares, made in the 36th minute of the game. Luisinho Baptista's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Laerte Martins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Luisinho Baptista in the 41stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Laerte Martins, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Luisinho Baptistas short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Laerte Martins to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The wind increased when Kiko da Cunha made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Yuriduarte got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Saraiva. Laerte Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yuriduarte's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luisinho Baptista in the 56th minute. If Luisinho Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63rd play minutes Luisinho Baptista shot 4-1, a short shot which went by Laerte Martins and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 68thth minute of the game Luisinho Baptista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cordeiros FC's Laerte Martins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gugu Saraiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70thth minute of the game Luisinho Baptista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cordeiros FC's Laerte Martins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Gugu Saraiva came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Yuriduarte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gugu Saraiva couldn't finish the play. In the 73rd minute of the match, Kiko da Cunha got a very nice opportunity to score, but Carlos Alberto Lucas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Luisinho Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laerte Martins came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Yuriduarte's Luisinho Baptista. But to his dismay, Luisinho Baptista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. After 84 played minutes Cordeiros FC got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias Pires. When Yuriduarte's Luisinho Baptista in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cordeiros FC's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Luisinho Baptista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laerte Martins was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. After 96th play minutes Kiko da Cunha shot 5-2, a short shot which went by Carlos Alberto Lucas and just under the crossbar into goal. Yuriduarte's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
