Spectators: 7274 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 144) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Virgílio Pires took the kick off in the first half of the match. Vito Diniz came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by São Bernardo F.C.'s Nico Arruda. But to his dismay, Nico Arruda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Itanaje's Vito Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nico Arruda in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute Sílvio Moraes suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. São Bernardo F.C. made a substitution. Telmo Cosme replaced Sílvio Moraes. Sandrinho Pena hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Nico Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Vito Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Nico Arruda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vito Diniz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 24 minutes into the match, São Bernardo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Virgílio Pires came free, but Celso Souto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandrinho Pena hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Vito Diniz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nico Arruda's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. When Virgílio Pires fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itanaje's protests and gave Virgílio Pires a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of São Bernardo F.C. booed when Itanaje was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgílio Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nico Arruda might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vito Diniz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nico Arruda ran back to his position shaking his head. 44 minutes into the match, Nico Arruda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vito Diniz. Itanaje's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nico Arruda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nico Arruda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nico Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vito Diniz having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Róbson Vides during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Róbson Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 63 minutes, Natã Seco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the São Bernardo F.C. and the Itanaje players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th minute Virgílio Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Souto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 66 minutes, Nico Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. São Bernardo F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Nico Arruda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 70 minutes of play, São Bernardo F.C.'s Nico Arruda made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vito Diniz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nico Arruda in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vito Diniz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Nico Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Nico Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Itanaje's zone, Pedrinho Mineiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vito Diniz came out of the goal and Pedrinho Mineiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nico Arruda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Sandrinho Pena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itanaje's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandrinho Pena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Souto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nico Arruda might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vito Diniz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nico Arruda ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee ended the match the São Bernardo F.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
