Franklin Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hugo Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Silas da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hugo Amorim got free with Silas da Costa in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 35 played minutes Candia got a freekick which was hit by Gualter da Cunha. Alan Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th match minute, Itajui SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Duarte to maneuver through the defense. 40 minutes into the match, Hugo Amorim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silas da Costa. Candia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hugo Amorim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 46th minute, Osvaldo Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elano Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Veiga in the 49th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Itajui SS's Elano Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Veiga in the 56th minute of play. Silas da Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Velasco in the 65th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Murilo Oliveira during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 70 played minutes Candia got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Oliveira. 75 minutes into the game, Itajui SS's Hugo Amorim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silas da Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After 80 minutes of play Candia's Murilo Oliveira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 80th minute, Murilo Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vágner Cunha struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Silas da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itajui SS. 94 minutes into the match, Hugo Amorim notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Candia's Silas da Costa. Silas da Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Vágner Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Itajui SS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
