But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emílio Peixoto couldn't finish the play. Magno Britto was a little too slow when Angus Young got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 6th minute. The score was now 1-0. Angus Young blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Magno Britto having to make a save. The supporters of Sarzeda SC booed when Goianesia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Augusto Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frederico Toledo in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ünal Sökmensu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edvaldo Miranda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Magno Britto having to make a save. A hard shot by Cássio Peixoto from long distance, 36 minutes into the match, got Magno Britto's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Angus Young sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the match, Sarzeda SC's goalkeeper Magno Britto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edvaldo Miranda. The supporters of Sarzeda SC booed when Goianesia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natanael Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edvaldo Miranda was the one to do the kick off. If Angus Young had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Sarzeda SC's Augusto Garcia got a free kick in the 55th minute. Magno Britto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvaldo Miranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Magno Britto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angus Young in the 58th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Goianesia's goalkeeper Ünal Sökmensu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodriguinho Palmeira. If Emílio Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 minutes, Edvaldo Miranda made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Sarzeda SC's Magno Britto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Goianesia made a substitution. Valdomiro Goiano replaced Angus Young. Magno Britto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdomiro Goiano's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Miranda in the 90th minute of play forced Sarzeda SC's goalkeeper Magno Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Goianesia had won after a very even match.
