The referee ignored PepéFc's protests and gave Pedro Paulo Luz a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes PepéFc got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Paulo Luz. After a rather tough play, PepéFc's Erik Diniz got a free kick in the 5th minute. Betão Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caio Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betão Britto, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Betão Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Caio Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Betão Britto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 13 minutes, Alfredo Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Toninho Pimenta's late challenge caught a Fortaleza Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toninho Pimenta helped the player get up and apologised. 15 minutes into the game, Betão Britto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Caio Guimarães. Betão Britto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Betão Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to PepéFc getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Dagoberto Moreira hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Joaquim Medeiros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Caio Guimarães skillfully saved the ball. Betão Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Caio Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo Leal in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Caio Guimarães, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. PepéFc's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Betão Britto scored to the left of an out of position Caio Guimarães, making the score, 2-0. In the 46th minute, Nilson Bezerra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mateus Leite was the one to do the kick off. Caio Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovanni Abraão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Botelho in the 53rd minute of play forced PepéFc's goalkeeper Caio Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Botelho scored 3-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Caio Guimarães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 59 minutes into the match, PepéFc's goal looked a bit too open when Betão Britto came free, but Caio Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PepéFc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fortaleza Esporte Clube the free kick. 88 minutes into the game, one of PepéFc:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
