Rubens Neves came out of the goal and João Bittencourt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Gorosti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rubens Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. In the 22nd match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. João Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Rubens Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rubens Neves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from João Bittencourt went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Ernesto Gorosti kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. João Bittencourt might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rubens Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Bittencourt ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabiano de Godoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boca Juniors made a substitution. Váldson Linares replaced Ernesto Gorosti. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Bittencourt to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, João Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but João Bittencourt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubens Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudinho Félix struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Dedê Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alasca. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Alasca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fiori Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience held their breath when Gildo de Lara in the 59th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Rubens Neves's left hand side. Fiori Vianna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dedê Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fiori Vianna in the 73rd minute of play. When Pedro Luís Valle fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alasca's protests and gave Pedro Luís Valle a yellow card for diving instead. Pedro Luís Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Alasca's Sebastião de Castro got a free kick in the 78th minute. Rubens Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Bittencourt in the 80th minute of the match. In the last second Dedê Matos throw himself and got hold of the ball when Claudinho Félix in the 83rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After some careless play in the Boca Juniors defense, Válbson Galvão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dedê Matos. The Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dedê Matos should have stopped the shot. 89 minutes into the match, João Bittencourt notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Alasca's Rubens Neves. Rubens Neves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dedê Matos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastião de Castro in the 96th minute. When the referee ended the match the Boca Juniors players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
