Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nestor Fernandez took the kick off in the first half of the match. With 4 minutes on the clock, Romário do Valle commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 7th minute there was a penalty for Garotos da Base. Maurício Velasco stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Chicão Pena. 1-0. Tapuias's Chicão Pena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Tapuias from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Tapuias booed when Garotos da Base was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute, Tibúrcio Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 minutes of play, Garotos da Base's Armando Lara made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chicão Pena was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 25th match minute, Tapuias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agostinho Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. Chicão Pena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armando Lara went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After 32 played minutes Garotos da Base got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Gaspar. Bernardo de Senna's late challenge caught a Garotos da Base's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardo de Senna helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th minute, Bernardo de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, Evandro Queiroz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chicão Pena. Tapuias's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Evandro Queiroz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. A collision led to Garotos da Base getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Evandro Queiroz hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edinho Maranhense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Garotos da Base getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Nelson Gaspar hit a great ball. Tapuias's Donatello de Senna shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 55th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bernardo Linares but with some difficulty. In the 58th minute Nestor Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Pimenta notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Tapuias's Chicão Pena. Chicão Pena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chicão Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Fernandez in the 64th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Elivélton Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute of the match Maurício Velasco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chicão Pena showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Chicão Pena came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Garotos da Base's Reynaldo Pimenta. But to his dismay, Reynaldo Pimenta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. After having played for 89 minutes, Maurício Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garotos da Base's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurício Velasco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Maurício Velasco fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Garotos da Base's protests and gave Maurício Velasco a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st minute, Maurício Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Garotos da Base walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
