Sydney Siqueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Régis Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. AC Mariana's Filipe Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute Régis Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in AC Mariana's zone, Reynaldo Favoretto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Maciel came out of the goal and Reynaldo Favoretto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to AC Mariana getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Raphael Monteiro hit a great ball. 41 minutes into the match, Suva FC's goalkeeper Sydney Siqueira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Haroldo de Carvalho. Sydney Siqueira made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Haroldo de Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Noel Donato in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vicente Maciel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Suva FC's Sydney Siqueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo de Carvalho in the 65th minute of play. Vicente Maciel was a little too slow when Reynaldo Favoretto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 0-1. If Reynaldo Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noel Donatos short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Vicente Maciel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Reynaldo Favoretto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vicente Maciel having to make a save. In the 83rd minute, Haroldo de Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Régis Ramos struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Sydney Siqueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Mariana. Haroldo de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Sydney Siqueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute Reynaldo Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Maciel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Reynaldo Favoretto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vicente Maciel was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Ramos in the 95th minute of play forced Suva FC's goalkeeper Sydney Siqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Suva FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
