Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Christiano Santana in the 5thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vicente Maciel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haroldo de Carvalho in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geovânio Tasso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geovânio Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo de Carvalho in the 15th minute of play. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind AC Mariana's goalkeeper Vicente Maciel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Christiano Santana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vicente Maciel was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Edmundo Botelho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Vicente Maciel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 29 minutes, Christiano Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tacale EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christiano Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 31 minutes into the game, Ciro Veloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Mariana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tacale EC the free kick. After 31 played minutes AC Mariana got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Veloso. Edmundo Botelho in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vicente Maciel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Christiano Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elder Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Vicente Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Maciel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christiano Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christiano Santana to strike the kick off in the second half. Edmundo Botelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 54 minutes into the match, AC Mariana's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Botelho came free, but Vicente Maciel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Edmundo Botelho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vicente Maciel. AC Mariana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmundo Botelho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 58th minute Christiano Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Maciel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, AC Mariana's goal looked a bit too open when Christiano Santana came free, but Vicente Maciel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Maciel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christiano Santana's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in AC Mariana's zone, Edmundo Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Maciel came out of the goal and Edmundo Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 72 minutes, Edmundo Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tacale EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76thth minute of the game Edmundo Botelho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AC Mariana's Vicente Maciel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Haroldo de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio Tasso having to interfere. If José Pedro Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Maciel came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Tacale EC's Edmundo Botelho. But to his dismay, Edmundo Botelho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. There was no doubt that Tacale EC were the better team. Tacale EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
