Felipe Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Gustavo Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Furukuteu AC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dráusio Cardozo in the 33rd minute. Furukuteu AC's Dráusio Cardozo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tiaguinho Matos in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Renato Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Dedé Arantes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Furukuteu AC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dedé Arantes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiaguinho Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute, Joélson Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hugo Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 played minutes Covanca got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Trancoso. After 46 played minutes, Furukuteu AC's Dráusio Cardozo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tiaguinho Matos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Furukuteu AC reached it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dedé Arantes made the kick off in the second half. Covanca's Clemente Trancoso got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Dedé Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Gustavo Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felipe Godoi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 68th minute, Dedé Arantes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hugo Linhares came free with the goalkeeper in the 76th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tiaguinho Matos could save by the left post. Dedé Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Furukuteu AC's Hugo Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Furukuteu AC fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Furukuteu AC's Dedé Arantes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 89 minutes into the game, Covanca's Renato Furtado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Felipe Godoi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After 93 played minutes, Covanca's Emerson Passos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Felipe Godoi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Covanca reached it. Tales Koehler's late challenge caught a Covanca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tales Koehler helped the player get up and apologised. Furukuteu AC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
