Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fiori Veiga in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evandro Cardozo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Victor de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the match, Flamengo's Victor de Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiaguinho Alves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Evandro Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fiori Veiga in the 21st minute of the match. If David Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Flamengo defense, Davi de Queiroz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Evandro Cardozo. The Flamengo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Evandro Cardozo should have stopped the shot. In the 46th minute, Vauzinho FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Victor de Alcântara fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfredão Mineiro to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Zé Paulo Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vauzinho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Paulo Mattos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evandro Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Galvão in the 55th minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper Evandro Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Fiori Veiga got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Flamengo's goalkeeper couldn't reach when David Galvão 60 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. A collision led to Flamengo getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Wilian de Amorim hit a great ball. If Victor de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Flamengo booed when Vauzinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldinho Bueno didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 75 played minutes Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Wilian de Amorim. 79 minutes into the game, David Galvão lined in a short shot 1-4 behind a frustrated Evandro Cardozo. 85 minutes into the match, David Galvão dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Evandro Cardozo, 1-5. Alfredão Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiaguinho Alves having to interfere. In the 94thth minute of the game David Galvão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flamengo's Evandro Cardozo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fiori Veiga struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Evandro Cardozo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vauzinho FC. Vauzinho FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
