Vítor de Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Matheus Paraíba fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itubera SC's protests and gave Matheus Paraíba a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, Itubera SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matheus Paraíba to maneuver through the defense. Rafael Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Paiva in the 23rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustavo Paiva in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael Gaúcho saved Itubera SC from getting behind. Oséias Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Gaúcho having to interfere. After 37 minutes of play, Itubera SC's Matheus Paraíba made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Igor Senna was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vítor de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oséias Barbosa got free with Rafael Gaúcho in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Itubera SC's zone, Oséias Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Gaúcho came out of the goal and Oséias Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 49 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Itubera SC! The referee gave Lavajinha a penalty, 51 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aleandro Nóbrega, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Itubera SC's Rafael Gaúcho. 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Oséias Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavajinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Oséias Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Gaúcho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute, Oséias Barbosa made a precise shot to the right of Rafael Gaúcho. Itubera SC's Rafael Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Vander in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Fernandinho Loyola was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itubera SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lavajinha the free kick. After 92 played minutes Itubera SC got a freekick which was hit by Fernandinho Loyola. Oséias Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 100th minute by Matheus Paraíba got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Lavajinha fans cheered their team off the field, for while Itubera SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
