A collision led to Marreca getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Tadeu Luz hit a great ball. The supporters of Marreca booed when Pantera Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Marreca's Valdemar Paraibano broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Acácio Dias fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pantera Futebol Clube's protests and gave Acácio Dias a yellow card for diving instead. Acácio Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Haroldo Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egídio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Arturo Karlo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Pantera Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Arturo Karlo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Paulo Leão. A collision led to Marreca getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Cesinha Campidelis hit a great ball. Egídio Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Haroldo Pinheiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Egídio Costa to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Marreca's zone, Egídio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haroldo Pinheiro came out of the goal and Egídio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Pantera Futebol Clube's Robinho do Vale got a free kick in the 55th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Pantera Futebol Clube:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Marreca:s goal. In the 57th minute there was a penalty for Marreca. Valdemar Paraibano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Arturo Karlo. 1-1. Cesinha Campidelis hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Haroldo Pinheiro didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 74th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. In the 78th minute of the match Pantera Futebol Clube got a corner. Marreca's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nando Peres ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Didi Guedes heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Pantera Futebol Clube's João Carlos Faria got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 82 minutes into the game, Egídio Costa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Haroldo Pinheiro. Egídio Costa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. If Egídio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Faustão Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marreca's Haroldo Pinheiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Marreca from getting a goal against them. Nando Peres struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Haroldo Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pantera Futebol Clube. Marco Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Arturo Karlo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marreca's José Paulo Leão got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Pantera Futebol Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Marreca.
