Biquinhas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pirapo the free kick. Caetano Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giovanni Amaral in the 15th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Pirapo's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Oliveira came free, but Carlos Fernando Bezerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walmir Freire struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Caetano Esteves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pirapo. Carlos Fernando Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Pirapo's Fiori Bertassi got a free kick in the 30th minute. Giovanni Amaral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Caetano Esteves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. If Giovanni Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walmir Freire might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Caetano Esteves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walmir Freire ran back to his position shaking his head. Américo do Valle's late challenge caught a Pirapo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Américo do Valle helped the player get up and apologised. Pirapo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
