Gualter Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 minutes of play, Lork Fênix's Cacá Eger made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wágner Trigo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lork Fênix's Cacá Eger got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute, José Pedro Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 24 minutes, Cacá Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lork Fênix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cacá Eger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute, Rubinho Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, Lork Fênix's goalkeeper Arnaldo Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Roberto Paulista. Vânderson Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Lork Fênix's goal looked a bit too open when Vânderson Ribeiro came free, but Arnaldo Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Glauco Valadares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Arnaldo Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Roberto Paulista, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Vânderson Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, VASSOURENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Gualter Moraes came free, but Wágner Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Glauco Valadares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VASSOURENSE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lork Fênix the free kick. After 63 played minutes VASSOURENSE got a freekick which was hit by Glauco Valadares. Arnaldo Rocha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Glauco Valadares went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Wágner Trigo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cacá Eger in the 70th minute. The supporters of VASSOURENSE booed when Lork Fênix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton das Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cacá Eger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Wágner Trigo made a huge save. Arnaldo Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Roberto Paulista in the 87th minute of play. Vânderson Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Rocha having to interfere. Zé Roberto Paulista struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Arnaldo Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VASSOURENSE. In the 95th minute, Zé Roberto Paulista made a precise shot to the right of Arnaldo Rocha. Lork Fênix's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Lork Fênix's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
