The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bernardo Simões was out of position in the 2 minute of play, and Vânderson Ribeiro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vânderson Ribeiro really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Wágner Trigo came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Titan F.C's Gernando Donato. But to his dismay, Gernando Donato quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 12 played minutes Titan F.C got a freekick which was hit by Luisão Freitas. Zé Roberto Paulista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Vânderson Ribeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernardo Simões was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. A collision led to VASSOURENSE getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Manuel Barreto hit a great ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Titan F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of VASSOURENSE:s goal. 2-1 came through a penalty shot after 26 played minutes, when VASSOURENSE:s Rubinho Linares calmly waited for Titan F.C:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. Luisão Freitas hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the match, VASSOURENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Gernando Donato came free, but Wágner Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gernando Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Gernando Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vânderson Ribeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Ribeiro in the 52nd minute of play forced Titan F.C's goalkeeper Bernardo Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Zé Roberto Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Roberto Paulista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernardo Simões having to make a save. Zé Roberto Paulista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Bernardo Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 72 played minutes VASSOURENSE got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Massa. 73 minutes into the match, Sebastião Vasconcelos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wágner Trigo. VASSOURENSE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sebastião Vasconcelos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Vânderson Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Simões having to interfere. In the 81st minute there was a penalty for VASSOURENSE. Rubinho Linares stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bernardo Simões. 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Ribeiro in the 88th minute of play forced Titan F.C's goalkeeper Bernardo Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. VASSOURENSE's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
