Elivélton Maranhense's late challenge caught a Anelio SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elivélton Maranhense helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Brenha AD getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Elivélton Maranhense hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Brenha AD's Elivélton Maranhense got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute Dito Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válter Domingues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brenha AD's Válter Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Corrêa in the 19th minute of play. Rafa Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruninho Santana having to interfere. In the 23rd match minute, Anelio SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Batista to maneuver through the defense. Brenha AD's Perivaldo de Senna couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Anelio SC. After a defensive mix-up in Anelio SC's zone, Elivélton Maranhense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruninho Santana came out of the goal and Elivélton Maranhense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elivélton Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Bruninho Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Anelio SC booed when Brenha AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristóvão Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruninho Dracena got a throw-in 47 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Waldir Montenegro. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 56th minute, Dito Schmidt reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Válter Domingues. The goal made the score 0-1. Brenha AD's Elivélton Maranhense got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Válter Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dito Schmidt in the 75th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Perivaldo de Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brenha AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Perivaldo de Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruninho Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the match, Anelio SC's goal looked a bit too open when Rafa Tinoco came free, but Bruninho Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Mineiro hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. When the match was over Anelio SC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Brenha AD throughout the match.
