Haroldo Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kléberson Sá struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Angelo Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gercinopolis. With a little luck, Fã Clube do Neto FC's Angelo Sousa got control of the ball when Giovani Recife tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Fã Clube do Neto FC's Haroldo Mineiro in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gercinopolis's goalie prevented a goal. Haroldo Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu Fernandes having to interfere. When Walmyr Meira came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Fã Clube do Neto FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmyr Meira couldn't finish the play. Rubens Prata charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rubens Prata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Giovani Recife sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giovani Recife in the 31st minute. In the 33rd match minute, Fã Clube do Neto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rony Alves to maneuver through the defense. If Giovani Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Giovani Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute, Gláuber Rosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Haroldo Mineiro made a kick off. Walmyr Meira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Dudu Fernandes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Fã Clube do Neto FC's Angelo Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovani Recife in the 54th minute of play. Angelo Sousa came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Gercinopolis's Giovani Recife. But to his dismay, Giovani Recife quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 62nd minute of the match Enéas Coutinho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angelo Sousa skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Fã Clube do Neto FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Kauan Perez hit a great ball. If Giovani Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angelo Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giovani Recife, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute, Fã Clube do Neto FC's Haroldo Mineiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dudu Fernandes. Dudu Fernandes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. In the 76th minute, Bebeto Ferraz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kléberson Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Angelo Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Giovani Recife came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Gercinopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovani Recife couldn't finish the play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angelo Sousa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
