Júlio Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovani Quaresma in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Tambequi EC's Fernandinho Eger got a free kick in the 7th minute. Silas de Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Júlio Ceresso came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Marfinzeiro FC's Silas de Brito. But to his dismay, Silas de Brito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Silas de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marfinzeiro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Silas de Brito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio Ceresso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Júlio Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovani Quaresma in the 21st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Silas de Brito could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Júlio Ceresso however easily saved by the left post. Geovani Quaresma might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júlio Ceresso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geovani Quaresma ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42nd minute Kaká Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wágner Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The wind increased when Daniel Dante made the kick off in the second half. If Geovani Quaresma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tambequi EC's Júlio Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani Quaresma in the 55th minute of play. When Geovani Quaresma came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Marfinzeiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovani Quaresma couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute, Silas de Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodriguinho Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Silas de Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Júlio Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Júlio Ceresso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silas de Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovani Quaresma in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Júlio Ceresso saved Tambequi EC from getting behind. Daniel Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Wágner Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Marfinzeiro FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tambequi EC:s goal. The referee gave Tambequi EC a penalty, 91 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dadá Linares, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Marfinzeiro FC's Wágner Simão. 1-2. After 97 minutes, Cláudio Prestes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marfinzeiro FC and the Tambequi EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 97th minute, Cláudio Prestes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Marfinzeiro FC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
