Cassilandia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isaltino Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elivélton Paraibano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Elivélton Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danilo Andrade in the 30th minute of play. In the 35thth minute of the game Haroldo Fontes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palmeirina's Elivélton Paraibano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute, Mateus Hermes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cassilandia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Palmeirina's Elivélton Paraibano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Andrade in the 43rd minute of play. André de Queiroz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elivélton Paraibano having to make a save. Danilo Andrade scored 0-2 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elivélton Paraibano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Cassilandia's Carlos Alberto Saraiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto da Cunha in the 65th minute of play. After 90 played minutes, Palmeirina's Ricardo Montenegro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Saraiva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Palmeirina reached it. 95 minutes into the match, João Augusto da Cunha notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Cassilandia's Carlos Alberto Saraiva. Carlos Alberto Saraiva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Many of Cassilandia's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Cassilandia may have spent more time on the ball, but Palmeirina were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
